Latvian Ambassador shares Council Presidency Priorities with TABC

The TABC held a meeting for its members with Latvian Ambassador Razâns, who shared insights on Latvia’s priorities during its Presidency of the European Council, which is held by Latvia from January-June of 2015.  In this role, Latvia manages the formulation and direction of a common program for the Council, directs the Council’s agenda, chairs all Council meetings, and brokers compromises among the Member States during this period. In addition, Ambassador Razâns will offer insights on the future of the economic sanctions against Russia and on the growth of populist and nationalist political groups in the EU.
